WILSON-Dawson McNeal rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns and Central Plains' defense was dominant as the Oilers cruised to a 46-0 victory over USD 112 rival Wilson Friday evening in 8-Man Division ll District 5 action.

The game was scoreless for most of the first quarter and Central Plains fumbled inside the Wilson 15-yard line to stall their opening drive.  On the next possession, the Oilers broke through as Joseph Bunch scored from three yards out for a 6-0 lead.  On the Dragons next possession a bad snap led to a fumble recovery on the five-yard line by the Oiler's Blaine Hickel who lunged across the goal line for a score, increasing the Central Plains lead to 12-0 after the first quarter.

The Oilers added two more touchdowns in the second quarter on an 18-yard pass from Evan Stratmann to Hunter Green and a two-yard run by McNeal.  The Oilers were successful on one of two two-point tries and led 26-0 at intermission.

After Stratmann connected with Bunch on a six-yard touchdown pass to make the score 33-0 on the Oilers' first possession of the second half, McNeal rumbled in from 17 yards out for his second TD of the night and Central Plains was in control 40-0 after three periods.

The Oilers closed the game out 58 seconds into the fourth quarter when Hickel scored on an 11-yard run, providing the final margin of 46-0.

Central Plains racked up 212 yards of total offense, 157 of it on the ground.  They registered seven first downs but also accumulated 40 yards in penalties.

The Oiler defense would not allow Wilson to move the ball, holding the Dragons to minus-15 yards of total offense and allowing the Central Plains offense to run all their plays in Wilson territory.  Although Claflin and Wilson are only 23 miles apart, Friday's game marked the Oiler's first visit to Wilson for a Football game since 1992 when they were the Claflin Wildcats.

Central Plains (5-3, 4-2 in 8-Man Division ll District 5) will travel to the #2 seed in District 6 next week for their first playoff game against either Caldwell or South Barber.  Wilson (1-7, 1-5 in 8-Man Division ll District 5) will finish the season on the road at either Hutchinson Central Christian, South Haven or Stafford.
