The Russell-Victoria Baseball and Softball teams continued their three-game road swing on Tuesday with doubleheaders at Minneapolis.

The Bronco Baseball team allowed just one run in a sweep of the Lions by scores of 18-1 and 15-0 while the Lady Broncos were swept by their Minneapolis counterparts 19-4 and 20-10.

In Game 1 of the Baseball twinbill, Wyatt Griffin held Minneapolis to three hits in the 18-1 victory.  Griffin registered five strikeouts while Sam Thielen collected three of Russell-Victoria's 10 hits.   Mason Rohr and Max Evans had two hits apiece. Due to the run rule, the contest ended after three innings.

The Broncos erupted for 10 runs in the top of the fourth inning to finish off the 15-0 whitewash of the Lions in the nightcap.  Jackson Ross worked three and two thirds innings for the win while striking out three.  Rohr and Evans tallied three hits apiece and Rohr scored four runs for Russell-Victoria (6-5).

In Game 1 of the Softball doubleheader, Minneapolis put up eight runs in the bottom of the first inning on their way to the 19-4 win in a game that ended after two and a half innings.  The nightcap went the distance as Russell-Victoria (1-11) fought back from an early 10-2 deficit to pull to within 16-10 by the bottom of the sixth inning before the Lady Lions tallied four insurance runs for the 20-10 victory.

Jonae Radke and Gracelynn Dinkel took the losses for the Lady Broncos.

The two teams will head to Ellis on Friday, April 19 to take on fellow Mid-Continent League foe Ellis.  Both doubleheaders will begin at 4 p.m.
