Regional Pairings Out for Baseball, Softball

The Kansas State High School Activities Association on Wednesday released brackets for the Class 3A Baseball and Softball Regionals which will both begin on May 17.

The first round of the Class 3A Baseball Regional will be held at the home of the higher seeds before the tournament shifts to host school TMP-Marian in Hays for the Semifinals and the Championship game.  #5 seed Russell Victoria (8-10) will travel to #4 seed TMP-Marian-LaCrosse (8-10) to play at 6 p.m. Monday, May 17.  The winner of this game faces the winner of the game between  #1 seed Larned and #8 Beloit in a semifinal game Wednesday, May 19 at 2 p.m.

#7 seed Lincoln-Sylvan-Lucas (5-11) will play at #2 Minneapolis on May 17 with the winner facing the winner of the contest between #3 seed Ellsworth and #6 Hoisington-Central Plains in the semifinals at 3:30 p.m. May 19.  The Championship game will be at 5 p.m. May 19 with the winner punching their ticket to the Class 3A State Tournament.

The Russell-Victoria Softball team (15-3) is the #1 seed in their Class 3A Regional which will be played entirely at host school Larned.  The Lady Broncos will take on #8 Larned on May 17 at 5:30 p.m. with the winner of the game facing the winner of the match-up between #4 seed Sylvan-Lucas-Lincoln and #5 Ellsworth in a semifinal game at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19.  The Championship game as is the case with Baseball will also be at 5 p.m. on May 19.
