RHS Golf Ties for 4th at Plainville

The Russell High School Boys Golf team competed at the Plainville Invitational on Monday in windy conditions and finished tied for fourth place.

Leading the way for the Broncos was Jake Mooney who continued his strong Sophomore campaign with a score of 80 on his way to a fourth place finish.  Johnathan Sandberg placed 12th with a score of 91, James Pummell placed 32nd with a score of 103, Slayde Nuss carded a 112 and finished 36th, Solomon Moreland was 40th with a score of 114 and Treiton Ryan finished 42nd with a score of 122.

Dylan Budig of Hill City won the individual tournament title with a score of 72.

Hill City won the tournament with a team score of 322, five strokes ahead of second place Plainville.  Russell turned in a team score of 386 to tie Trego Community for fourth place.

The golfers will next be in action on Tuesday, April 23 when they travel to the Smith Center Invitational.  Tee time is set for 1 p.m.
