RHS Splits Triangular; Falls Short of MCL Tourney Semifinals

The Russell High School volleyball team matched up with Plainville and TMP-Marian in the opening round of the Mid-Continent League Tournament on Thursday, Oct. 14 in Hays.

The Lady Broncos beat Plainville in two (25-22, 25-20), but fell to state-ranked TMP-Marian in two (25-15, 25-10).

Russell ends the regular-season with a 12-20 record and now will prepare to host a Class 3A Sub-State Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 23 at Amos Morris Gym. Postseason brackets are expected to be released on Wednesday, Oct. 20.

TMP-Marian advances to the MCL Tournament semifinals on Saturday, Oct. 16 in Phillipsburg.
