Russell Girls Place Fifth, Boys Ninth at Smith Center Redmen Relays

The Russell girls took fifth place and the boys ninth at the Smith Center Redmen Relays on Tuesday, April 9.

The RHS girls finished with 48 points, while the boys had 25. Beloit ran off with the girls team title with 181 points. Phillipsburg took the boys team title with 94 points. 15 schools competed in the meet.

Kinsey Zorn took first in the 400 meter dash and second in the 800 meter run to pace the Russell girls. Aubrey Birney placed fourth in the high jump and triple jump. Macy Patterson finished sixth in both the discus and shotput. Jaden Ney was third in the pole vault. Jasmine Jefferson took fourth in the 300 meter hurdles. The 4x400 relay team finished third and the 4x800 relay team was fourth.

For the Russell boys, Trey Zorn placed second in the 800 meter run and fourth in the 1600 meter run. Walker Middleton was third in the 100 meter dash, fifth in the 400 meter dash and fifth in the long jump. Brody Pfannenstiel took fifth in the discus. The 4x100 relay team was sixth.

Next up for Russell is the Plainville Invite on Tuesday, April 16. Events begin at 3 PM.
