Russell K-18 Softball Sweeps Ellsworth

The Russell K-18 Softball team returned home to Memorial Park Tuesday evening and picked up a pair of wins against Ellsworth.

In Game 1, Russell used a six-run first inning on their way to an 11-3 victory.  In Game 2, Russell gave up four first inning runs only to answer with a five spot of its own in the bottom half of the frame for a 5-4 advantage.

After Ellsworth tied the score in the top of the second, Russell put the game away, scoring nine more runs in the bottom of the inning to win 14-5 as the game reached its time limit.

Russell is now 11-2-1 and will close out the regular season on Thursday, July 8 with a doubleheader at Memorial Park against a powerful Ellis team.  First pitch for Game 1 is set for 6:30 p.m.
