UPDATE: Russell, Sylvan-Lucas and Victoria Make Playoffs

Three area schools have qualified for the Kansas high school state football playoffs - Russell, Sylvan-Lucas and Victoria.

Russell (4-4) will play at Riley County (8-0) on Friday, Oct. 29 in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs. Game time is 7 PM. This is the Broncos' first trip to the playoffs since 2006 and fifth in school history. The game will be will broadcast on KRSL 990 AM, 98.1 FM and streamed online at KRSL.com.

Sylvan-Lucas (5-3) will host Norwich (4-2) in Sylvan Grove in the first round of the 8-Man Division II playoffs. The game will be played Friday, Oct. 29 at 6 PM. This is the Mustangs' fifth-consecutive playoff appearance. Also, this will be the second meeting this season between the two schools. Norwich beat Sylvan-Lucas 42-12 on Oct. 1. The game will be broadcast on KRSL 95.9 FM and streamed on KRSL.com.

Victoria (7-1) will open the 8-Man Division II playoffs at home against Peabody-Burns (4-3) on Thursday, Oct. 28. Kickoff is at 6 PM. This is the Knights' 19th playoff appearance in 20 years. The game will be broadcast on KRSL 95.9 FM and streamed on KRSL.com.

Wilson (1-7) did not qualify for the 8-Man Division ll playoffs and will close out the 2021 season on Thursday, Oct. 28 at home against Hutchinson-Central Christian. Kickoff is set for 7 PM.
