Victoria Rolls in Playoff Opener

Victoria rolled to a 54-6 win over Norwich in the first round of the 8-Man Division II playoffs on Thursday, October 29 in Victoria.

The Knights led 28-0 after the first quarter and added fourth touchdowns in the second quarter to cap off the win at halftime. Norwich scored their lone touchdown early in the second quarter.

Victoria fumbled on their first possession before reeling off eight-consecutive touchdown drives.

The Knights outgained Norwich 361 to 154 in total yards.

Victoria quarterback Grant Schoenrock passed for 87 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 137 yards and another score. Carson Werth ran for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Seth Schwein had two catches, both for touchdowns.

The Knights improve to 9-0 and advance to the regional round of the playoffs on Friday, November 6. Victoria will host Sylvan-Lucas. The Mustangs opened the playoffs on Friday, October 30 with a 74-24 victory at South Barber. This will be the second meeting this season between the two schools. Victoria beat Sylvan-Lucas 52-22 in district play on September 25.
